Cabo Verde

Cabo Verde/ Cape Verde is a group of islands that is a member of the PALOP--the African nations that have Portuguese as an official language. However, Cabo Verde usually uses a creole language based on Portuguese, which is not necessarily the same as conventional Portuguese. Here are some links that will help you with Cabo Verde Creole!

Instituto Camões

The Instituto Camões has info about the Portuguese language as well, under the large banner marked Língua. Again, this is all in Portuguese, but there are also areas in English, Spanish, and French, although these are often under construction, so Tenham cuidado! :D

Academia Brasileira das Letras

The Academia Brasileira das Letras has some nice resources about the Portuguese Language as it is used in Brazil. This site is all in Portuguese. The links with the most info about the language are found under the heading "Nossa Língua." Some dictionaries are available as well as spelling guides (note: spelling can be different between Brazilian, Conitinental European, and African versions of Portuguese!), and history.
